Description
Elytra of the beetle are yellowish with 10 longitudinal black spots. Both larvae and adults feed on the leaves of Salicaceae. The imago overwinters in litter. In spring, the female lays eggs on leaves which hatch into leaf chewing larvae about 2 weeks later. The larvae are 10 mm long, with longitudinal series of black spots. They live together on the lower side of leaves. Skeletonizing and lateral damage occur on leaves, which often begins from an apical part. Larvae pupate on leaves. It often causes an outbreak riparian willow stands.
Symptom
There are black larvae on the leaves. The leaves are twisted, dried and often punched or completely missing. Many yellowish beetles with black dots are present.
