Cushion bracket

Description

The fruiting bodies are perennial, 2-7 cm across, of a light grey-brown surface and with the pores, toned grey-brown to tawny, extending down to the substrate in growth. The blunt bracket margin is of a light brown colour. Its mycelium causes white rot in living trees. The fungus is taxonomically closely related to willow bracket (P. igniarius).
