Description

It has two alternating generations. The sexual generations develops in unilocular, 5–6 mm long bud galls, regularly found on older shoots and branches. Adults emerge in May/June. The asexual generation forms a globular (5–6 mm in diameter) leaf gall on the upper surface. It is green when young, later gets reddish and brown. The adults of this generation emerge late autumn/early winter.
